Overview

Experience Surveys in RaveCapture are flexible feedback tools that allow you to collect insights at different moments of the customer journey. Whether you want to replace a standard review request, follow up after a customer leaves a review, or ask an additional question alongside a review request—Experience Surveys give you that control.

This article explains the different survey types available and when each is used, so you can send the right survey to the right customer at the right time.

Note: Access to Experience Survey types depends on your subscription plan.


Why Survey Types Matter

Choosing the right survey type ensures you're collecting feedback with the right intent, at the right moment, and without overlapping or replacing other campaigns unintentionally. Each survey type has a specific trigger behavior—this determines when it’s sent and why it’s sent.

For example:

  • Replace your default product review request with a custom Product Survey.

  • Send a follow-up after a 5-star review asking for a testimonial.

  • Include an additional company feedback survey alongside your standard request.

🔹 Product-Type Surveys

Available on Enterprise Plan only
These surveys relate to product feedback and are typically triggered by product purchases or product reviews.

Sends after a product review is submitted. Can filter by star rating and/or product tags.

🔹 Company-Type Surveys

Available on Enterprise Plan only
These surveys are focused on the customer’s overall experience with your brand or company.

These surveys have no automation and are ideal for ad hoc campaigns, events, or internal feedback collection.

Understanding Survey Triggers

Each survey type uses a unique trigger behavior:

Tip: Each survey can only use one trigger. To use the same survey for multiple triggers (e.g., send as a follow-up and alongside a review), duplicate it and assign a different trigger.

Best Practices & Logic Tips

  • ✅ Use product tags to control where your product-related surveys apply.

  • ✅ When using follow-up surveys, filter by star rating to tailor your message (e.g., ask for testimonials after 5-star reviews).

  • ⚠️ Avoid enabling multiple untagged surveys with the same trigger (e.g., two “Instead of Product Review” surveys with no product tags) to prevent conflicts.

  • 🌀 RaveCapture allows multiple active surveys with the same trigger. The most recently created one may take priority, but behavior may vary—test before launch.

  • 📋 Customers can receive multiple surveys per order if triggers don’t conflict (e.g., one “in addition to” and one “follow-up” survey).

  • 🔁 If you need to use the same content across multiple triggers, duplicate the survey and reassign the trigger.
