This guide helps you configure your automatic review request email settings. Automatically send requests for Company Reviews, Product Reviews, and Experience Surveys to your customers after they make a purchase.
Why Automating Review Requests Matter
Consistent, automated review requests help you gather valuable feedback and build trust with new customers.
By customizing these campaigns and iterating on them through A/B testing, you can continually improve the quality and relevance of the reviews you receive. Remember, merchants should aim for a 5-10% response rate on review requests.
Getting Started:
Settings for Product Reviews, Company Reviews, and the Review Request Ratio can be found on the Campaigns page. The Review Request Ratio allows you to send:
Company Reviews
Product Reviews
A combination of Company and Product Reviews
Experience Surveys
You can also set up automatic follow-up requests with Smart Reminders to boost your response rates.
Review Request Ratio
On the Campaigns page, you can choose how reviews are requested by using the Review Request Ratio settings. You can either:
Send both Company and Product Reviews to each customer for every order, with staggered send times using adjustable send delays.
Customize review request ratios with the Ratio Slider. For example, a 50%/50% split will alternate requests between Company and Product Reviews.
This flexibility allows you to experiment and A/B test which request types capture the best content for your business.
Automatic Review Request Customizations
On the Campaigns page, select the campaign you want to edit and navigate to the Auto Invites page to personalize:
Send delay (emails are sent a specific number of days after the order is completed)
Email content (view our Email Best Practices guide)
Smart reminders
Handling orders with multiple products
Custom questions (Product Review Request emails only, more details below)
Custom Questions (Product Review Emails Only)
You can now add Custom Questions to your Product Review Request emails to collect deeper insights from your customers. Custom Questions allow you to:
Ask Product-specific or Customer-specific questions.
Use question formats like multiple choice, rating scales, and Net Promoter Scores (NPS).
This feature is critical for improving the quality of your reviews by gathering additional data on customer satisfaction and product performance. Testing different questions through A/B testing can help optimize your review content further.
Email Template Customization:
To customize your email content, use the toolbar at the top of the email body. Available tools include:
Bold, Underline, and other text formatting options.
